Brian Greene, JD

After graduating from Brigham Young University in political license, Brian worked as a loan processor for a mortgage company while attending law school. Following graduation from the J. Reuben Clark Law School – Brigham Young University – Mr. Greene worked as general legal counsel for two (sequential) real estate development and holding companies, where he directed legal affairs and represented each company in legal and administrative proceedings. In addition, he ensured that development projects complied with applicable regulatory framework, and managed development projects through the land entitlement process.

Working for these two development firms and eventually his own, Brian created various legal entities such as condominiums, homeowners associations, joint ventures, limited liability companies, etc., including drafting of necessary legal documents, and providing direction and oversight in property acquisition and financing of real estate and related businesses. He also managed leasing and operations of each company’s real estate holdings.

Subsequently, Brian set up a law practice, which focused on real estate and related matters, including administrative law, bankruptcy and collections. Clientele consisted of companies and individuals engaged in real estate, construction and development, title insurance, and financing. Currently, Brian is of-counsel with a small law firm with a real estate emphasis.

In 2005, Mr. Greene became the executive director of 1031 Exchange Services, a 1031 exchange intermediary firm, and also joined RealtyNet Advisors, Inc., as CEO and COO. RealtyNet specialized in 1031 exchange replacement property and the sale of tenant-in-common ownership interest in debt-free, single tenant, free-standing retail properties, leased and guaranteed by national tenants. In addition to general management duties, specific responsibilities include acquisition and due diligence of $20M of net leased property annually, regulatory compliance, and 1031 exchange process development and oversight.

Since January 2013 Brian works 45 days a year as a representative for the Utah House of Representatives for District 57, which includes Pleasant Grove and American Fork Utah.
